How do you bring your vision into reality? Often, we have a strong vision that we want to see accomplished in our lives or in our organizations, but we fall in the middle of bringing it out to the reality. Why is that so? And, what can we do to bring about our vision into a reality?

There may be 3 reasons why our visions do not become reality in our lives.
1. Has vision but has no "focused" direction or discipline.
The first case is when a person has a strong vision but has no focused direction or discipline. For example, a person may have a strong vision to become a soccer player on a national team level. Then he should be focusing his practice time to improving his soccer skills instead of using that practice time to improving his basketball skills which are not in align with his vision to be a top soccer player.
When we are trying to bring the vision into reality, we may face many temptations to divert us from following that vision, this is where a focused discipline is necessary to align our activities with the stated vision.
2. Has vision but no concrete plans.
The second case is when a person may have a strong and compelling vision but have no concrete plans to achieve it. When I took a CPA final exam for three days, I remember I was advised that for a day 2's 4 hour exam, I should spend first 1 hour nothing but planning on reading the questions, writing out the outline, and prioritizing the responses to the questions. When I first heard this advise, I thought it was such a waste of time: "why would I spend an 1 hour of time nothing but to plan instead of tacking right into the questions?" But, the advise was absolutely right. Without the concrete plan, there was no way I could have stayed calm and write out my responses in logical way.
For a vision to be brought forth to reality, there needs to be a concrete plan. There is a saying,
"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."
Plans are like a map in the woods. When I was taking that dreadful 4 hour CPA exam, I was able to stay calm and write answers without rushing, because I had a detailed plan that was telling me throughout the exam that I was staying on the right track.
3. Has vision but no actions.
Lastly, the person may have strong vision, and concrete plans to accomplish the vision. But, the most important thing is to take an action and follow through the focused disciplines and the plans. Without that, nothing will be accomplished.
So, for the vision to become a reality, there needs to be focused discipline, concrete plans, and courage actions. Think about which area that you are lacking, as you are pursuing your vision for your life or for your organization. With discipline, concrete plans, and actions to follow through the plans, you will bring your vision to reality.
